Fortnite will host a livestream of Disney’s D23 fan event on Saturday, featuring the “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase.”

The D23 panel will stream starting at 8:30 p.m. PT (11:30 p.m. ET) and will be moderated live by Josh D’Amaro, head of parks and experiences, and “some special guests,” and will include revelations about Disney’s Fortnite partnership.

In February, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that the company had invested $1.5 billion in “Fortnite” developer Epic Games. This was the “biggest foray into the gaming industry ever”. A Disney universe will be created within the online platform that “offers consumers numerous ways to play, watch, shop and interact with content, characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, ‘Star Wars’, ‘Avatar’ and others”.

Since then, Disney and Epic have remained fairly quiet about the details of the project until finally announcing a Fortnite livestream featuring Disney gaming news at D23.

“Fortnite” will open access to the D23 livestream via the game’s new “Disney Horizons Live” island starting Saturday at 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET, one hour before the show begins. “Fortnite” users can join the island via the home bar in Discover or by using the island code 7908-6413-2516.

According to Fortnite, players who visit the Disney Horizons Live island for 10 minutes will receive a free in-game item, the Peelverine Plush Back Bling (pictured above), as well as XP later in September. The item can be purchased in the game’s shop at a later date.

After the livestream concludes, Fortnite will play the presentation in a loop until August 16.
