What happens:

  • Jungle Cruise is a classic attraction at Disneyland. Soon you will see a new animatronic tiger scene, but it is quite expensive.
  • According to city records, Disneyland has applied for $600,000 in building permits from the city of Anaheim to replace the tiger structure.
  • Permits were filed in August and include replacing the Tiger structure’s electrical system, steel frame, foundation and cement render bricks.
  • Last November, the infrastructure around the tiger collapsed. The scene was subsequently renovated and a wooden fence was added to shield the broken elements until they could be repaired.
  • The Jungle Cruise will be closed from September 16 to October 3 for renovations.

About Jungle Cruise:

  • On July 17, 1955, the original Jungle Cruise, based on the True-Life Adventure films, opened at Disneyland Park.
  • In the 1960s, with the help of animator Marc Davis, they changed the style by adding more humor and drama.
  • Over the years, more and more wild animals and jokes were added.
  • You never know what to expect on the journey downstream.
