DEVIN TOWNSEND has announced a new album!

Titled PowerNerdThe upcoming album by the acclaimed Canadian progressive artist is the successor to the 2022 Lightworkand is expected to be completed in November this year. InsideOut Music.

“It was a conscious thing,” City end says about his brand new album, the music for which he wrote in just 11 days. “I thought, ‘I’ve spent so much time thinking about every aspect of my work – what would happen if I didn’t do this?’ Maybe then I’d have the opportunity to be a little more direct with what I’m trying to do. I really wanted to see if I could break through some of these detours.”

In addition to the announcement of the new album DEVIN TOWNSEND has released a new music video for a new song from the upcoming album; the title track PowerNerd. The new song features a guest appearance by HATE RACE‘S Jamey Jasta.

The artist says about the new song: “I would say a PowerNerd would be someone who has a tendency that society deems weak or worthless, whether it’s empathy or isolation or introversion, and turns that into some kind of personal strength. It’s like, ‘Okay, yeah, I’m sensitive to this, that and that, but man, I’m going to get through this! I’m going to do things with that sensitivity that’s rooted in strength.'”
