Devin Booker just won his second gold medal of his basketball career and turned to his favorite people to celebrate the win. I’m sure you have an idea who I’m talking about. But just to confirm: Davon Wade, his older brother and their beloved sister Mya Powell. By now, we’re all aware of Mya’s role in Booker’s life. The 22-year-old, who was diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome, has been a constant source of motivation and inspiration. When he was named a Special Olympics Global Ambassador, the Phoenix Suns superstar dedicated the honor to his sister.

“I have celebrated the successes and witnessed the challenges my sister Mya has faced as a person with intellectual disabilities. She motivates me every day and I am honored to be part of the Special Olympics, a global organization with the mission to raise awareness of the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities,” DBook explained this in a statement.

Now that we have enough details about Mya, it’s only right that we delve a little into Davon Wade’s life. The eldest of the step-siblings, Wade was born on February 17, 1993. Since Booker is a world-famous basketball player, their mother, Veronica Gutierrez, a beautician, could only do so much to keep his life private. However, she did a great job of shielding her other children from the public eye. And so, we don’t have much information about Davon’s father. Or, for that matter, Mya’s father.

Given the bond between the three, there was never really a need to go into detail. The trio may not be direct siblings, but the relationship between them makes you wonder if that’s even necessary. However, Wade seems to be quite successful in his chosen career. A quick look at his Instagram shows that Davon enjoys the finer things in life. He studied business administration at Western Michigan University.

According to his profile “The lack of customer satisfaction and the poor treatment by large business administrations were the driving force behind his studies.” After graduating, Davon Wade moved to Phoenix, Arizona to work and support his brother. Of course, the two often spend time together and nurture their friendship with some “brother time.”
