Apparently Devin Booker needed a second Olympic gold medal to earn the respect of the fans.
Since Booker helped the U.S. national team to a 98-87 victory over France at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on Saturday, social media has been raving about how selfless he was in helping the U.S. win the Olympic title.
Booker was a part of the U.S. team’s entire run to the gold medal, playing a key role on defense and in other areas that don’t stand out in the statistics.
He scored 15 points in just over 27 minutes in the gold medal game, hitting six of 10 shots. He added six rebounds and three assists, and Team USA scored 18 more points than France when he was in the game.

X-Users were particularly impressed by Booker’s performance, and several accounts published posts praising the Suns guard’s game in Paris.

Many people were impressed with Booker’s contribution to the U.S. team’s gold medal race.

The praise for Booker was welcomed by Suns fans, who felt he had been underestimated and disrespected by other fans for years.
However, judging by all the praise for Booker on social media, that seems to have finally changed. At least for now.

“Devin Booker deserves his flowers”
Clutch Points brought back a post by Kyle Kuzma from 2023, in which the NBA player wrote, “US basketball better get some NBA stars who know how to play a role. Anyone can be good when they have the ball in their hands, but can you keep your cool when you’re defending and going to the corner for a few possessions?”
Booker’s response to this post: “I will do it.”
This was certainly the case at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
