Stephen Curry and LeBron James. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. Stephen Curry and Devin Booker…? The first two would make sense considering everything we saw on the court in Paris. And in KD’s case, we saw the deadly offensive duo they were during Durant’s Warrior days. But Booker? Where in the world did that combination come from? Or, more importantly, how did such an idea even come about?

We might be able to answer the second part. And if you get the answer to that, the first question will answer itself. Ready? Let’s go. Warriors Muse, the official Golden State fan site for all things Dubs, posted an interesting tweet. A “secret” day trip for two in London, if you will.

“While in London everyone was driving their own car one evening, Steph and Book were the only ones sitting in the same car. They probably come from golf backgrounds. Steph with his Wardell 30 and Book with his Red Wings golf bags.”

We all know that these two, along with Jayson Tatum, enjoy a round or two of golf in Abu Dhabi. Given the game schedule, the men have a little free time to indulge in other activities. Unsurprisingly, golf enthusiasts Steph and DBook have opted to do the same. And it seems that newly crowned NBA champion JT has also decided to show off his skills.

But how come we missed the rendezvous in London? On the other hand, it should not be too surprising that the two men were connected by their shared love of sport. Booker once said that golf “Peace of mind.” And as for Curry, well, he’s a scratch golfer who has been playing the sport since he was ten years old.

But was that all that fueled the rumors of a friendship between Devin Booker and Steph Curry?

The 2024 Team USA squad was something special. For us fans (and those who weren’t born or old enough to understand the significance of the 1992 Dream Team), this group was the ultimate basketball nirvana – Dream Team 2.0For the players themselves, like Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton and in our case Devin Booker, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Playing against some of the greatest players in basketball is different than playing with them. And witnessing that greatness, even though you’ve seen it many times before, is even more surreal up close. That was the situation these NBA superstars found themselves in when they were in the company of Steph. Even KD, who is arguably on par with the Bay Area legend in terms of shooting, was speechless when he saw Curry at his best.

Imagine the fate of others. After Steph hit the golden dagger against France, the crowd and his teammates went wild. And what did Book say? “He is the best shooter of all time!” Not one of the best, but the bestHis appreciation and admiration for the Olympic debutant was obviously as pure as it could be.
