Devin Booker and Anthony Edwards make bold prediction for US team’s 2028 Olympics

The Summer Olympics in Paris were the perfect final performance for the stars of the 2010s, so legends like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry took center stage as they led the team past their international opponents. When the 2028 Olympics come to Los Angeles, there will be a change in leadership for Team USA. It looks like the backcourt is already set, with Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and Phoenix Suns scoring threat Devin Booker having declared their intentions.

It’s tough to be a constant part of the US team at the Olympics. You have to love representing your country and at the same time be physically fit enough for the NBA team to trust their star to stay safe. The Suns have already proven that Devin Booker can do that. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are slowly accepting the fact that their superstar could be the next face of the league. Anthony Edwards and Devin Booker only had to verbally accept the challenge for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

“See you in LA, boy!” Booker called to Edwards.

The Timberwolves star then shouted back to the Suns shooter: “Book and I are in charge in LA!”

These two, along with Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Bam Adebayo and Tyrese Haliburton, are considered sure candidates for the next US national team, whose stated goal is to bring home a gold medal.

Edwards and Booker’s stats were quite similar. Despite only being allowed an average of 16 minutes of playing time, the Timberwolves superstar made the most of his time, putting up 12.8 points on 58% shooting from all three points. Not to mention, he also made 48% of his shots from three-point range. Defensively, his 1.3 steals per game for Team USA were also huge.

Booker, on the other hand, was more efficient with his long-range shooting, shooting 56% from three-point range and field distance, which earned him 11.7 points. His game-winning ability was also important for Team USA, as the Suns star delivered 3.3 assists per game.

Edwards will be 27 and Booker 32 when the Olympics take place in Los Angeles. Will the two consistently prove that they deserve to be on the starting lineup for the US team by then?
