Des Moines gaming lounge and social bar Ricochet plans to expand its presence outside of Iowa.
Ricochet has announced the opening of a new location in Missouri. This will be the second Ricochet location to open. Traffic at the Des Moines Ricochet has not slowed down since opening in 2021, allowing for growth.
Owner Brad Argo told the Register that Ricochet’s Midwest expansion began with hunts in Minneapolis and Kansas.
“It’s exciting to see a company from Des Moines expanding throughout the Midwest,” Argo said by phone Wednesday. “I think that says a lot about Des Moines and the things that come out of here.”
Where will the new Ricochet location be?
According to FOX 4, the new Ricochet in Kansas City will be located in a 11,000-square-foot building at the corner of 18th and Grand in the Crossroads Arts District.
“We’re excited to see the growth in Kansas City,” Argo said. “There’s a lot of positive energy and a lot of momentum here. And it’s close to Des Moines, our hometown, so we can still stop by and spend time locally without having to get on a plane.”
What will happen at the Kansas City Ricochet?
Similar to the bar in Des Moines, the Kansas City Ricochet will have a U-shaped bar and many of the same games, including ping pong, pool, bags, darts and more.
“The games are usually two-player games that bring people together and give them a chance to connect without all the distraction of electronics,” Argo told the Register.
When is the premiere of Kansas City Ricochet?
The second Ricochet location is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2025. The new location is in the architectural phase and construction will begin soon, with an expected opening date of early February.
