Depot After Dark: Browns DT on the exemption list, Steelers support nonprofit, former Steelers OL released

A daily segment of the Steelers Depot. A quick roundup of some stories surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers that may not warrant a full article, but are still gems worth mentioning and can be passed along to us.

Your Depot After Dark for August 26th.

BROWNS DT ON THE EXCEPTION LIST

Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. has been placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List. according to reporter Mary Kay Cabot. This comes after Hall was charged with domestic violence earlier this month. The Browns selected Hall in the second round of last year’s draft, and now he will likely miss some time this season.

Being placed on the Commissioners’ Exempt List will allow the NFL to gather more information on Hall and pursue legal action. If Hall is found guilty, the league will likely punish him. Domestic violence is no joke, and hopefully the truth will come out and justice will prevail.

STEELERS SUPPORT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Football is a great game that many love, but sometimes it can be more than that. Every NFL team has a huge fan base that follows every action of their players. The Steelers recently took advantage of their huge fan base to Support Pittsburgh Humane Animal Rescue.

You can see players holding some of the dogs that the organization has that could be adopted. HARP is a huge nonprofit dedicated to helping animals, so it’s great that the Steelers decided to bring awareness to it. It’s a good reminder that there’s always an opportunity to do good in the world.

FORMER STEELERS OL CUT

John Leglue is an offensive lineman who played for the Steelers from 2020 to 2022. Although Leglue only played in 2021 due to injury, there were moments when he looked good. Last year, Leglue was a member of the Atlanta Falcons but was recently shortened.

It’s perhaps worth noting that Arthur Smith was the Falcons’ head coach last year. Leglue played guard for the Steelers, and while they probably need help more at the tackle position, they need depth on their offensive line. Perhaps Leglue could be a player they turn to. However, with so much turnover still to come, it’s hard to say for sure.
