I am a celebrityThe show’s Denise Drysdale has responded to rumours that she has been “embroiled in a secret feud” with presenter Julia Morris since they worked together on Channel Nine’s variety show. Tonight in Melbourne from 1996 to 1997.

“Julia was just starting out on TV and Denise felt she wasn’t grateful enough for the advice she gave her,” a source told the publication. “From day one there was a personality clash and (presenter) Frankie J Holden was really uncomfortable every week because they were trying to outdo each other.”

Denise has now spoken about the rumors for the first time and tells Yahoo Lifestyle after their elimination on Wednesday evening that they were “complete nonsense”.

“It’s total nonsense,” she claims. “I really don’t know where it comes from. It’s pointless, it’s not true and it casts such a negative shadow on things.”

“That’s why I don’t like today’s media. They want negativity. Let’s focus on the positive. We have Donald Trump and (Vladimir) Putin, we don’t need any more negativity.”

The popular comedian and television personality went on to say that she had seen Julia “now and then” since they worked together on IMT and she is a big fan of what she does.

“I admire her because she went abroad and did all these courses, and I think she went and did improvisation and all these things. She took her career really seriously, and I admired that, that’s something I never did,” she notes.

“I think she’s great. I think Robert (Irwin) and her on the show just work well together and it’s fabulous.”

Denise reveals what she took away from the show

About her time at I am a celebrityDenise jokes that she is “thrilled” to be the first to be voted out of the jungle.

“You can’t predict what’s going to happen. You go in, you do it, it’s different and everyone’s in the same boat,” she explains. “It’s such an experience and I’m glad I did it, but I’m so damn glad to be out!

“I don’t want Survivors, I don’t want to be like Bear Grylls. I don’t want to be thrown into the middle of the sea and have to swim to shore. I don’t want to do anything right now. I have a beautiful life, beautiful children, grandchildren and a dog and a cat who love me.”

BUSINESS:

Denise adds that although she didn’t get along with everyone, she is happy to have met so many “nice” people on the show.

“I was looking forward to making friends again like they have in the past and I have done that,” she notes. “I have some lovely friends. Tristan (MacManus), who I have worked with of course, studio 10, but I didn’t realize how nice he was until I spent time there.

“And then Steven K. Amos, he’s amazing. Also Candice (Warner), she’s just a wonderful, wonderful woman. And also Peter (Daicos), the football player, he’s so funny. I’ve met some really nice people.”
