Deion Sanders tells CBS reporter “We Good” after press conference collapses

A week after a controversial press conference that also shut down the Denver Post and CBS Colorado, Deion Sanders wanted to address his actions. The Colorado Buffaloes coach made it a point to tell everyone that he had come clean with CBS. After Friday’s public practice, he told reporters at DPS All City Stadium in Denver: “We Good.”

Sanders asked if CBS’ Eric Christensen was covering the event. Unfortunately, he was not in attendance. However, host of Coach Prime’s weekly show Romi Bean was in the stadium representing CBS. “God bless you. Tell (Christensen) he knows,” Sanders said. “I want everyone to know we were good then. It seems like we weren’t good. We are good. I love him and I appreciate him. Tell him I’m sitting down with him for a one-on-one. We are good. We are good now.”

Sanders didn’t say anything about Sean Keeler of the Denver Post after not allowing him to ask a question. History between the local columnist and the Buffs has been good since Coach Prime wasn’t hired, largely due to Keeler’s harsh opinion of Sanders and his tenure in Boulder thus far.

Three findings from the investigation report into Shilo Sanders’ insolvency proceedings

There is no clear reason why Sanders had a falling out with CBS. Many speculated it was because the network published an article calling him the second-worst coach in the Big 12. Shannon Sharpe said this was the case with Prime, but Phillip Duke of On3 had a different version. The journalist friend of Sanders claims a failed project between the two sides was the reason for the disagreement. However, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith voiced his opinion on the matter on Friday, saying Sanders was upset with CBS for reassigning a story that had originally been assigned to a black writer.

Colorado opens the 2024 football season on August 29 (8 p.m./TV: ESPN) against North Dakota State.
