(Decatur County, IN) – The Decatur County United Fund is pleased to announce that the 2024 campaign is underway and will soon be holding this year’s fundraising efforts as part of the Making Connections Together campaign. This year’s goal is $555,000.
Joane Cunningham, Executive Director of the United Fund, stated, “The Decatur County United Fund mobilizes a single fundraising campaign to raise money for a variety of nonprofits that support Decatur County. Each February, 501c3 health and human services nonprofits can apply to the United Fund for funds for the following year. The Community Investment Committee reviews the applications and interviews the organizations requesting funds. After all nonprofit reviews are completed, the Community Investment Committee thoroughly reviews the community needs to prepare its recommendation to the Board.”
The 2024 campaign funds will support 16 agencies and 20 programs in 2025. These include Advocates for Children, Catch-A-Ride, Champions of Youth, Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana, Greensburg Community Bread of Life, Carousel Play and Learn Center, Community Healthcare Clinic, Decatur County Kids Closet, Decatur County Youth Baseball, Girl Scouts, Human Services Food Pantry and Head Start, Our Hospice of Decatur County, Speranza House, Turning Point and Decatur County Family YMCA.
“We are grateful for everyone’s and the entire county’s support in ensuring our health and human services do just that – meet the human needs of our community. The funds from the United Fund are very important to our funded partners to meet the budget needs of their programs,” Cunningham noted.
Cunningham shared, “We ask the community to consider one of several ways to donate. Corporate campaigns are a great way to support the work of the United Fund and the many organizations it serves. If possible, payroll deduction is the easiest way to pledge to the United Fund. Donations can also be mailed to the Decatur County United Fund at 108 S. Broadway, Suite 1, Greensburg, IN 47240. The 2024 campaign goal is $555,000 and currently stands at $140,901, or 25.3% of the goal.
