Hyatt Regency Hotel Surveillance Video Related to Death of D’Vontaye Mitchell

The video shows the defendants turning Mitchell from his side onto his stomach and forcibly holding him down.

According to court documents, Mitchell begged outside the hotel and later ran inside. When he was asked to leave, he ran to the women’s restroom and tried to lock himself in.

No answer

After a struggle, all four defendants turned Mitchell onto his stomach and one called 911.

When police arrived, Mitchell was no longer breathing and had died at the scene of the accident.

Court records show that Erickson told investigators that neither he nor the hotel’s other security guards were licensed or certified, but that Hyatt had offered them training in CPR.

One person was involved in the incident for hitting Mitchell on the legs with a broom, but no charges were filed against him.
