He was found dead on Thursday afternoon during an emergency call

A man found dead under suspicious circumstances in Hoquiam on Thursday has been identified.

Bryce Bitar, 34, of Aberdeen was identified as the deceased by Grays Harbor County Coroner George Kelley. The cause of death has not been determined, according to a news release from the coroner’s office.

Bitar was found dead Thursday morning after Hoquiam police responded to a 911 call reporting a man screaming for help near Lower Simpson Avenue, near Doug’s Small Engine Repair. The daily world previously reported.

The body was taken to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy on Friday, said Lt. Brian Dayton of the Hoquiam Police Department.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and interview suspects, Dayton said, and are processing the numerous pieces of evidence recovered from the crime scene, including DNA evidence.

Police are still trying to establish a connection between a 35-year-old man from Aberdeen, who was taken from the scene for further medical treatment, and the dead man, Dayton said.

There is no danger to the public, Dayton said.
