Harry Potter fans who were hoping to catch another glimpse of the bespectacled wizard in JK Rowling’s new film projects will be disappointed, according to Daniel Radcliffe.

The actor says that although he knows nothing about the author’s first attempts as a film writer, he does know that he was not involved in them.

“At first I thought, ‘Thanks Jo, now I have to answer a ton of questions about it,'” he joked.

“I’m sure they’re going to have a great time. I’m sure most people are excited.

“Needless to say, I won’t be involved in it and I guess none of the others (from the ‘Harry Potter’ films) will be either, but I know absolutely nothing about it.”

The project – possibly the first in a series – is said to be based on the fictional text “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and is set 70 years before the events in the “Harry Potter” novels. It focuses on the character Newt Scamander.

David Heyman, who produced all of the Harry Potter films for Warner Bros., has also commented on the project, but only in vague details.

“I can’t really talk about it yet. All I can say is that it’s great. Jo had no desire to return to that universe or that world,” he told Coming Soon.

“It’s not Harry Potter per se, but the world of Harry. She chose to do it because she felt the need to tell a story. The fact that she’s doing it means it’s going to be something very, very special.”
