Daniel Radcliffe is “definitely not” aiming for a cameo in the Harry Potter reboot

Daniel Radcliffe is “definitely not” aiming to appear in the upcoming Harry Potter TV reboot.

Speaking to ComicBook.com on Monday, the Swiss Army Man star didn’t explicitly rule out a cameo in the HBO television series, but noted that he’s not actively pursuing one, either.

“From what I understand, they’re trying to start fresh and I’m sure whoever does it will want to put their own stamp on it and probably won’t want to think about how to get old Harry to do a cameo somewhere,” the 33-year-old actor told the publication. “So I’m definitely not looking for that… but of course I wish them all the luck in the world and I’m very happy that that torch is being passed on. But I don’t think I need to physically pass it on.”

Daniel first portrayed the Boy Who Lived in the first film adaptation of the novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, in 2001. He played the title character until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011, alongside Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley.

Daniel is currently promoting the fourth season of the anthology series “Miracle Workers,” which also stars Steve Buscemi and Geraldine Viswanathan. The series premieres in the US on July 10.
