Dalevon Campbell named as nominee for Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award – University of South Carolina Athletics

It was announced today that University of South Carolina wide receiver Dalevon Campbell is on the shortlist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is an award given annually to “the best offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring qualities that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community spirit and tenacity.”

The award is reserved for players who were born in the state of Texas, attended a Texas high school, or attended a Texas junior college or university. The award was established in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber of Commerce in Tyler, Texas, and is presented by SPORTyler, Inc. in partnership with the City of Tyler, the Tyler Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce.

Dalevon Campbell, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound graduate of Missouri City, Texas, began his career at Illinois. He spent three seasons in Champaign before transferring to Nevada prior to the 2022 season. In his final two seasons with the Wolf Pack, Campbell caught 70 passes for 861 yards and three touchdowns. He earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors in 2023.

The list of nominees announced today will be narrowed down to up to 16 semifinalists in November and up to five finalists in December. They will be selected by broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans and past winners. The finalists will be brought to Tyler for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet, scheduled for January 22, 2025.
