ANAHEIM, California – From newly announced movies to rides and areas under construction at Disney parks around the world, we’ve brought you all the live updates from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
This gathering of official Disney fan club members took place from Friday to Sunday and culminated with the Disney Legends Award ceremony at the Honda Center.

Fan costumes will be on display at D23 in Anaheim, California on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
“Titanic” star Kate Winslet and “Avatar” star Zoe Saldana introduced director James Cameron as one of the newest Disney Legends of 2024.
On stage, Cameron explained: “You are not a solo artist. You are only as good as the artists around you.”
He honored his longtime producing partner, the late Jon Landau.
“He would have loved that moment,” Cameron said.
He also thanked Disney CEO Bob Iger for his belief in “Avatar.”
In a recorded video, Jane Goodall introduced the new Disney legend Joe Rohde.
“I am so proud to be one of your friends and thrilled that you are now a Disney Legend in recognition of your talent,” she said.
Harambe’s Tam Tam Drummers, who perform at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, welcomed Rohde on stage with an interactive musical interlude.
The voices of the Disney Princesses – Jodi Benson (The Little Mermaid), Paige O’Hara (Belle), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Linda Larkin (Jasmine), Ming-Na Wen (Mulan) – honored animator Mark Henn as a Disney Legend.
Henn was the supervising animator for all of their characters. He spent a total of 43 years at Walt Disney Animation Studios, from 1980 until his retirement last year.
The late Steve Ditko was posthumously honored as a Disney Legend on Sunday evening at the Honda Center.
Ditko was co-creator of the Marvel superhero Spider-Man. He also created Doctor Strange.
