CR Newtown faces New England in the Little League World Series

WILLIAMSPORT, PA — After a heartbreaking loss to the Southwest Region on Thursday, the Council Rock Newtown U12 Little League team returns to action tonight in the World Series in Williamsport against the New England Region.

The team, coached by Brad Hamilton, Kyle Neeld and Doug Peiffer, will fight to stay in the World Series. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2, with local viewing parties at the Green Parrot, Iron Hill Brewery and the Clubhouse.

After a day off, the team will have to deal with Thursday night’s loss to Boerne, Texas. The Southwest Region champions hit three home runs and a grand slam in their 9-0 victory over the locals.

Tonight, CR Newtown will return to the field in Williamsport for another try, shaking off memories of Thursday’s game and remembering what brought them to Williamsport in the first place – excellent offense, great defense, good pitching, fielding, batting, coaching and teamwork.

“No matter what happens, you guys are great. I love you guys forever,” coach Hamilton told the boys before Thursday night’s game.
