Copper Shores Outreach and Education urges Baraga County families to make good choices

Viewed 4 times

Copper Shores Outreach and Education’s goal to build stronger communities starts with strong families. Over six weeks in August and September, the Copper Shores Outreach and Education team is hosting a virtual workshop series called “Guiding Good Choices for Baraga County families.” The workshop series, conducted in partnership with NorthCare Network, offers the program free of charge to families with children ages 9-14 in Baraga County. The program is designed to strengthen family units through open communication, conflict resolution, and setting clear boundaries. Children attend a session that teaches them the tools to resist peer pressure while maintaining friendships. Over the six sessions, parents and caregivers learn how to encourage healthy development and reduce risky teen behavior. The program equips families with resources and tools to build strong supportive bonds and encourage open communication between parents and children. Baraga County families interested in participating in the six-week program with Copper Shores Outreach and Education should register with program coordinator Lisa Simpson by August 18. The program officially begins on August 19. Those interested in learning more about the Guiding Good Choices program for teens and parents can find more details here.
