The stadiums of the New York Mets and the New York Yankees are a real success for animals – and PETA has taken notice. The organization has just Citi Field And Yankee Stadium two of the most vegan-friendly baseball stadiums in North America—but which comes out on top? Citi Field keeps up the pace with an impressive animal-friendly menu at its Vegan City stand, and Yankee Stadium added delicious, dairy-free, hand-scooped Blue Bunny ice cream to its offerings this year.

Mets fans craving classic stadium fare can grab nachos topped with melted vegan cheese at Vegan City or try the tantalizing tacos filled with sautéed mushrooms, onions, diced pineapple and jalapeño and garnished with cilantro and lime. Fans looking to satisfy their sweet tooth can cool off with pineapple or strawberry Dole Whip, available at several locations throughout the stadium.

In addition to Blue Bunny’s incredible dairy-free ice cream, Yankees fans can also indulge in Legends Hospitality’s savory Sweet Spot Bowl, which is filled with sweet plantains, rice, black beans, pickled onions, and a generous drizzle of cilantro and hot sauce. Or they can head to one of The Halal Guys’ two booths and grab the delicious falafel, which comes with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and pita bread—just remember to skip the white sauce.

“No matter which side of the Subway Series New York baseball fans are on, the delicious vegan offerings at Citi Field and Yankee Stadium will leave them wanting more,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “All of the stadiums on PETA’s list are hit it out of the park with food that leaves the animals alone – and not cut into pieces.”

Other top baseball stadiums recognized by PETA include the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park, the Chicago White Sox’ Guaranteed Rate Field, the Colorado Rockies’ Coors Field, the Philadelphia Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park, the San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park, the Seattle Mariners’ T-Mobile Park, the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field, the Toronto Blue Jays’ Rogers Centre, and the Washington Nationals’ Nationals Park.

Every person who goes vegan saves nearly 200 animals from daily suffering and a terrible death each year and reduces their own risk of heart disease and cancer. PETA’s free vegan starter kit can help anyone who wants to make the switch.

PETA—whose motto includes, “Animals are not meant to be eaten”—points out that every animal is someone and offers free empathy kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, visit PETA.org or follow the group on X, on facebook.or Instagram.
