Chenoa Nickerson: 33-year-old woman missing after flash flood in Grand Canyon National Park

A 33-year-old woman named Chenoa Nickerson out of Gilbert, Arizona has been missing since Thursday due to a Flash flood In Grand Canyon National Parkreported by ABC News.
Search and rescue operations are currently underway to find them after they were in Havasu Creek around 1:30 p.m. local time. The National Park Service (NPS) reported that several hikers were stranded in the area due to the flooding.
The National Park Service (NPS) issued a press release on Friday announcing that a Rescue flight was dispatched to assist people stranded both above and below Beaver Falls. However, one person identified as Nickerson remains missing after being swept into the creek about a half-mile above the confluence with the Colorado River. The NPS noted: “A rescue flight assisted people stranded below and above Beaver Falls, although Nickerson remains missing, the NPS said. She was swept into the creek about a half-mile above the confluence with the Colorado River and was not wearing a life jacket.”
At the time of her disappearance, Nickerson was reportedly wearing a black tank top, black shorts and blue hiking boots. The search for her continues as rescue teams work to determine her whereabouts.
On Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for several areas in Coconino County, including the Havasu Creek Basin and surrounding regions, highlighting the potential dangers posed by rapidly rising water levels and strong currents in the affected areas.
