Rupert Grint celebrates his 36th birthday today. Birthday.

He is now a grown man, but the world fell in love with him over two decades ago when he played the role of Ron Weasley in the hugely successful Harry Potter.

While many fans still know him from his film career, Harry Potter The cast split up over a decade ago and have all been pursuing their own ventures since then.

Grint, who is a fan of the Harry Potter book series, auditioned for the role of Ron Weasley in 1999.

He even went so far as to send a video of himself rapping about how much he wanted to impress casting agents with the role.

In 2000, it was announced that Grint, Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) would play the three main characters in the first film. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Grint was 11 years old when he was cast in the film and 23 years old when the finished film was released.

Grint was 13 when the film came out and played Ron in all eight films. He was 23 when the final installment in the series came out.

After completing the final film, Grint told NJ.com how strange it felt to give up something he had been doing for so long.

“I mean, that was literally my childhood, and suddenly it all came down to one random scene of us jumping down a chimney, and then it was over,” he said.

During his time as Ron Weasley, Grint took on several other roles, including the comedy-drama Driving lessonsstarring Julie Walters, and the 2010 comedy thriller Wild Target alongside Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy.

After leaving Hogwarts, Grint continued to pursue his acting career, having notable roles in several projects, including the 2012 film Into the whitethe 2017 television series Sick note and the 2017 TV series Grab.

Grint also starred in the official music video for the song by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran Lego house in 2011.

The film was well received by fans, especially because many felt that Grint and Sheeran looked incredibly similar.

Most recently, Grint played Julian Pearce in the psychological horror series servantwhich ran for four seasons between 2019 and 2023.

Grint is also back with his Harry Potter Co-stars for the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts Documentary.

In the documentary, Grint revealed that the experience of being part of the franchise made him who he is today.

“Without all the people here, I wouldn’t be the person I am. It’s an overwhelming thing because I’ve watched you grow up and been through practically every phase of your life,” he told his co-star Emma Watson.

“It’s a strong bond that we will always have. We are a family.”

Acting aside

In addition to acting, Grint also donated his time and money to various charities, helping to raise money for various causes including hospice care and cancer research.

Most recently, he collaborated with the nonprofit Choose Love to design a charity t-shirt to raise money for refugees and displaced people.

Personal life

We know much less about Grint’s private life than about that of his lover Harry Potter character, but since leaving the franchise he seems to have lived a very decent life.

The star was in a relationship with actress Georgia Groome, known for her role in the teen comedy Angus, thongs and perfect smoochingsince 2011, and they have a four-year-old daughter together, Wednesday.

The couple have worked hard to keep their relationship and their daughter out of the public eye, although Grint has spoken briefly about their relationship in the past.

“It’s a very natural thing – we’re just best friends. We’re kind of the same person; we think alike,” he said Shine in 2021.

“That’s why it’s always worked – that’s why it’s endured. It’s hard to say exactly what it is, but it works and it’s great.”

The same year Wednesday was born, Grint decided to make his Instagram debut; his first photo was a sweet photo of him and his newborn daughter.

After setting up his account, his follower count rose to one million within four hours and one minute, breaking the previous Guinness World Record for the fastest record to reach one million.

Despite his large fan base, Grint does not post much on social media and seems to enjoy a private life with his young family.
