Browns offensive line weak after three injuries in game against Vikings

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns have been struggling with injuries to their tackles for some time, and during the preseason on Saturday
The situation could have worsened in the game against the Minnesota Vikings.

James Hudson III, who was used as left tackle while Jedrick Wills Jr. was recovering from a knee injury that ended his season last year, left Saturday’s game after being injured on a play shortly before halftime.

Hudson cautiously left the field wearing sneakers. The Browns were eliminated early in the second half when Hudson suffered an ankle injury.

In the second half, tackle Hakeem Adeniji was also injured and held his leg on the sideline. Trainers came and helped him into the blue medical tent. Adeniji was ruled out with a knee injury.

Also injured in the second half was tackle Germain Ifedi. The Browns said Ifedi’s return was questionable due to a hand injury; he was downgraded to out in the fourth quarter.

Having two tackles, Wills and Jack Conklin, still dealing with injuries from last season poses a challenge. Having three more injured in one game is not ideal.

For the Browns, tight end Giovanni Ricci had to leave the game due to injury. He was out in the second half with a knee injury.
