FLATLANDS, Brooklyn (WABC) — A 66-year-old woman was found dead in a Brooklyn home on Tuesday afternoon.

The woman was found unconscious in the kitchen of her East 56th St. apartment after 3 p.m.

She was found with numerous stab wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

According to sources, the victim may have been cooking shortly before his death.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released, but neighbors were saddened to learn of her death on Wednesday.

“I’m really surprised, really,” said neighbor Jayna Simeon. “She didn’t deserve to die at all.”

Neighbors said the victim was a nurse but suffered an injury and was unable to work.

This was just the worst of it after her house was destroyed by a devastating fire in November 2022 and she fell on hard times.
