Bronx police ask public for help in finding missing 69-year-old man

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ — A police chase through Camden County ended in a serious crash Saturday night that left three people, including two young children, injured and a 32-year-old man arrested.

The incident began when Deptford police officers attempted to stop a stolen white sedan driven by Joshua Chrismon, who allegedly refused to stop and instead engaged in a dangerous pursuit for officers. The pursuit ended violently when Chrismon ran a stop sign and crashed into a dark-colored car at a high rate of speed, according to Gloucester City Police officials.

The force of the impact caused the dark-colored car, which had three passengers inside, including an 8-year-old and a 7-year-old, to slam into the front of a home in the 500 block of Morris Street in Gloucester City. The accident was captured by a Ring video camera belonging to a local resident, Jennifer Walker, who was shocked at how the situation unfolded. “It’s a stolen car from Deptford. How did it get to this point without him being stopped? I don’t know,” Walker said.

After the accident, Chrismon tried to flee the scene on foot, but was quickly caught and arrested by pursuing police officers.

The injured children and the driver of the dark-colored car were treated for their injuries, but their conditions have not yet been released. The extent of the damage to the house is also being assessed.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident and Chrismon is expected to face multiple charges related to theft, chase and accident.

This incident has raised public concerns about the dangers of high-speed chases, particularly when they take place in residential areas.
