Brian Kelly says a disease is running through LSU football locker room

If LSU wants a chance to win another SEC championship and compete for another national championship, the Tigers need to stay healthy. And by that, I don’t just mean the usual football injuries. Players need to be able to fight off illness.

Brian Kelly recently revealed that several players on the team are suffering from an illness that is preventing them from participating in training. It is hard enough to deal with an illness, but when you add to that training in full gear on a day that can be 100 degrees, it is a recipe for disaster.

“So we had a virus going around, a gastrointestinal virus. Throughout the entire offensive line. And Emery Jones was badly affected by it today. You could see that he was in and out. He probably shouldn’t have been out there, but you couldn’t stop him from training. That’s what he was suffering from. We sent him home,” Kelly said, according to On3.

“I don’t know how Whit Weeks and West Weeks got through training. They had a similar virus. We sprayed the offices. We cleaned them. But you know, we’re battling it now with a number of people.”

The Tigers need to be 100% healthy if they want to win their first season opener since 2019.
