Brandon Graham: Jalen Hurts has a new and improved outlook on life

The Eagles’ poor finish to the 2023 season has generated a lot of interest in whether the team will be back on track for the 2024 season or if the struggles were a sign of more bad things to come for Philadelphia.

The performance of quarterback Jalen Hurts will play an important role in answering this question. There was Reporting on how problems in Hurts’ relationship with head coach Nick Sirianni impacted the team’s negative development and there were some assumptions during last season that Hurts would play despite an injury, but defensive end Brandon Graham believes Hurts is doing very well right now.

“I mean, you could just see that Jalen’s feel better day to day and just the way he moves, even faster than last year,” Graham said, via Reuben Frank of NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com. “I think he probably struggled with some issues last year. But you can tell he’s got a new and improved outlook on life this year. And I’m happy for him because you can see he’s excited.”

The Eagles revamped their offensive coaching staff in the offseason, adding running back Saquon Barkley in a move designed to help Hurts return to the success he had before things went south last year. Graham’s comments give reason to believe things are on the right track, but the regular season will provide the crucial answers to where Hurts stands.
