Boy George’s sister flies to Australia to support him in his jungle exit

Boy George’s sister is flying to Australia to support him when he leaves the jungle.

The star’s sister Siobhan, who lives with her mother Dinah, admitted it was tough to watch her brother burst into tears on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after Matt Hancock – who has served as Health Secretary during the COVID-19 pandemic – entered the jungle.

Boy George was upset to see Matt as he blames him for the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, the singer’s mother, Dinah, was sick in hospital and he was not allowed to visit her.

Siobhan told The Sun newspaper: “I’m so proud of George. He expressed (on Wednesday) what we all feel and it was hard to see him so upset.”

“I’ll be there waiting for him when he comes out. Mom and I cheer him on every night.”

Dinah previously said: “He’s always there for me, so his reaction was no surprise. And I can’t wait to hug him when he comes home.”

George’s close friend and manager Paul Kemsley added: “His mother is the foundation of who he is and everything he has ever been. He couldn’t be closer to her.”

“When his mother was sick, he was doing terribly well. I have never seen him so scared and sad, no question.

“There were obviously other traumas, but none were as emotional.

“I spoke to him every day at that time. I remember him calling me sobbing. I was shocked and asked what was wrong and he said, ‘I think it’s COVID – she’s in the hospital.'”

“As managers, our job is always to try to fix everything, but when someone you love calls and gets into a situation you can’t fix, all you can do is offer comfort.

“George doesn’t allow himself to be bullied or manipulated by Matt, but he has a lot of trauma to deal with.”
