Boston police update wanted list and ask for anonymous tips

BOSTON – The Boston Police Department has updated its wanted list and is asking the public for help in locating several people.

As of August 22, the department is urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of these individuals to contact the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or text the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463).

The office emphasizes that tips can also be given anonymously, as it only concerns the information provided and not the identity of the whistleblower.

To further simplify the process, photos and videos of possible suspects can be submitted via an app whose link has been provided by the police.

It is important to note that calls or text messages to CrimeStoppers are handled by police officers and trained staff who ensure that the information is passed on to the appropriate investigators without compromising the anonymity of the whistleblower.

The Boston Police Department assures the public that it does not have to reveal its identity when sharing information about a crime.

Police also advise the public that the status of those on the most wanted list may change, as some may already have been arrested.

They advise checking all outstanding arrest warrants before taking police action.

This notice is intended to ensure the accuracy and safety of both the public and police personnel.
