Sales overview

The country’s No. 1 and No. 2 books have swapped places this week, with Alex Hirsch’s The Book of Billbased on the Welcome to Gravity Falls Animated series that top the list in several regions. The 2018 paperback edition of JD Vance’s Hillbilly Elegywhich includes a new afterword, review, and additional materials, drops to No. 2 and is joined at No. 3 by the 2016 paperback edition of the book. Together, their sales surpass those of the No. 1 title.

In Clubland

New month, new book club selections, starting with the Barnes & Noble Book Club and Read with Jenna selections, The wedding people from
Alison Espach. It is “a sparkling and slightly macabre novel about a woman in her thirties starting a new life,” according to our review, and is number 4 on our list of hardcover novels. Reese’s Book Club has Slow dance by Rainbow Rowell, which comes in at number 14 on our hardcover novels list. Rowell, who is best known for her young adult novels, “serves up a powerful and poignant story of first love for adult romance readers,” according to our review.
