The finale of BOOM! Studios’ eight-year Power Rangers saga is here, and there’s no better time to make a statement about its darkest hour.


As the Power Rangers franchise entered its 30th year, creators across all media wanted to celebrate the franchise’s achievements and legacy, most notably by turning back the clocks and reviving the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. From this 30th anniversary celebration came two of the best Power Rangers projects of all time: The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Forever Film that premiered on Netflix and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return The comic was co-authored by Kimberly Hart actress Amy Jo Johnson.

Once and always brought back classic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers like Billy and Zack as they battled a resurrected Rita Repulsa. The live-action film was a fun love letter to the franchise and allowed fans to say goodbye to some of their favorite Rangers. The return The miniseries was a bit more adult and was set in an alternate universe in which the Green Ranger, played by Tommy Oliver, died saving his fellow Rangers.
