BattRE Electric Mobility launches Storie EPIC series at ₹ 84,999

The price may be a bit high compared to similar offers from larger brands

BattRE Electric Mobility has officially launched its much-awaited Storie EPIC series electric scooter in India, marking a major milestone in the company’s mission to promote sustainable mobility. The Storie EPIC series scooter is priced at ₹84,999, making it an attractive option for those looking for a reliable and eco-friendly scooter without breaking the bank. With an IDC range of 103 km on a single charge, it’s a decent offering at this price.

design

The BattRE Storie Epic Scooter has a standard scooter design with a focus on durability. The scooter features metal plates that would be easier to fix in case of a fall and would also not break as easily. Most of the design elements are round and flowing. It reminds me of the scooters of yesteryear. The design is further enhanced by 12 bright color options.

Engine and battery

The BattRE Storie Epic Scooter is equipped with a long-lasting 60V 40Ah battery with IP67 protection rating that offers an IDC range of 103km on a single charge. The battery can be fully charged in 5 hours. The scooter is powered by a 2kW motor that can reach a top speed of 65km/h. Moreover, the battery is a removable unit so users can charge it on the scooter or at home as per their preference. The battery also comes with a 3-year or 30,000km warranty, which provides additional peace of mind to users. The company has claimed a battery life of 1200 charge cycles.

The company claims that the BattRE Storie Epic Scooter has comfortable ergonomics. The scooter features a spacious 600mm footboard that can be used to carry cargo or luggage, increasing its practicality. As for weight, the scooter itself weighs 106kg and has a payload capacity of 257kg, suggesting its potential for light commercial use such as deliveries or cargo transport, but the design says otherwise. The storage space under the seat also doesn’t seem to be generous.

Features

The equipment on this scooter is quite basic and includes a digital instrument cluster with a 3.25-inch LCD screen and IP65 protection rating. Connectivity is not present. The display shows information such as remaining range, battery temperature indicator and charging time indicator. The headlight is a halogen unit while the taillight is an LED unit.

The ₹84,999 price tag of the BattRE Storie Epic scooter may seem a bit high when compared to offerings from more established manufacturers that offer additional features, higher brand value, and comparable performance at a similar or lower price.
