Now, the Dark Knight has found a solution thanks to a literally once-in-a-lifetime solution from an unexpected ally.
In Batman #149 by Chip Zdarsky, Steve Lieber, and Michele Bandini. Bruce rescues Zur-En-Arrh’s Robin, a clone of Bruce, from the streets and brings him back to Batman’s brownstone. Batman discovers that Zur-En-Arrh has been accelerating the cloned Bruce’s aging process, but had nothing to stop it.
In the following weeks, the clone Bruce grows older and when he reaches the age of the original Bruce, the clone makes a shocking decision. He chops off his hand and offers it to Batman in exchange. for the robot replacement that Bruce von The Return of the Dark Knight Batman while hunting Red Mask.
Batman’s hand injury is finally fixed thanks to a bizarre swap
Batman may be one of the DCU’s greatest heroes, but he’s just as vulnerable to injury as any other human. After being transported to another Earth, Batman came into conflict with the villain Red Mask and his numerous enforcers. While trying to prevent one of Red Mask’s plans, Bruce battled this new world’s version of Ghostmaker, who eventually took Batman’s right-hand man. Not long after, Bruce traveled from world to world in search of Red Mask, eventually ending up on The Earth of the Dark Knight Returns and met his Batman, who gave Prime Batman a robot hand to replace his old one.
Batman has suffered many injuries over the years and the scars prove it. But losing part of his body was an extreme turn of events that shocked even Batman’s biggest fans. However, the prosthetic Bruce received from his doppelgänger came in quite handy. It could help him stick to walls and spread smoke to allow for easy escape. It was a cool development that seemed to shake things up for Bruce, but now it was completely undone thanks to the unexpected and coincidental arrival of a Batman clone.
Batman’s robot hand was repaired far too early
Getting a severed limb repaired thanks to a rapidly aging clone is just another Tuesday in Batman’s world. But even though this puts an end to that storyline, it’s a shame that Bruce’s injury heals so quickly. It was a reminder that Batman is not invincible and that his job carries real dangers. Besides, Batman loves cool gadgets and what’s cooler than a multifunctional robotic hand? But whether fans liked Bruce’s prosthetic or not, Batman The help of his loved ones ends this chapter in the Dark Knight’s life.
