After the premiere of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” on the streaming service RTL+ the day before, the TV broadcast on RTL on August 16 was also successful. The channel performed well in the 14- to 49-year-old age group, attracting around 830,000 viewers and achieving a market share of 21.6 percent. This even surpassed ZDF, which achieved a market share of 18.9 percent with the DFB Cup match between FC Bayern Munich and SSV Ulm.
In terms of overall ratings, however, the TV jungle could not compete with “King Football”. The day’s leader was the DFB Cup with around 4.0 million viewers and a market share of 19.9 percent. “I’m a Celebrity…” Legends of the Jungle Battle“Die große Liebe” achieved a market share of 12.1 percent and around 2.2 million viewers. It is still unclear how many viewers tuned in to the premiere on RTL+, where the current episode of TV-Dschungel was also broadcast on Friday.
The daily summary of jungle legends
For the summer season, RTL has hired a top-class line-up, hence the title “Battle of the Jungle Legends”. The candidates are all well-known personalities who have already appeared on the show, such as presenter Mola Adebisi (51), model and DJ Giulia Siegel (49), TV star Daniela Büchner (46) and ex-footballer Thorsten Legat (55).
The show is hosted by Sonja Zietlow (56) and Jan Köppen (41).
The TV jungle continues on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. Episodes will then be broadcast daily on RTL until September 1st. On RTL+ the episodes are available one day earlier.
The show “Kampf der Dschungellegenden” on RTL+ follows the RTL-TV broadcast and uses RTL’s digital Right-To-Left (RTL) platform to give viewers early access to the episodes. Despite the early broadcast, the DFB Cup match still reached a larger audience on traditional television.
Digitally, viewers can look forward to the daily episodes of the television jungle on RTL+ one day before they are broadcast on television.
