The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced that Baseball5 will be part of the 2024 Little League World Series. World Series participants will have the opportunity to experience the fast-paced urban version of baseball/softball in a brand new multi-use playing facility built specifically to allow the young athletes to play a variety of sports during their time in Williamsport.

“The new facility is consistent with Little League’s philosophy of multi-sport participation rather than specialization, and offers event participants the opportunity to play freely, creating fun and memorable experiences with other children from around the world,” says the Little League International website.

WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari commented: “This is another milestone for our dynamic urban discipline Baseball5, which is enjoying great popularity around the world and is heading towards its Olympic debut at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal.”

The 2024 Little League World Series will be held August 14-25 at the Little League International Complex, Lamade & Volunteer Stadiums, in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, USA.

Ten international teams are participating in the 19-team tournament: Kuei-Shan Taoyuan (Chinese Taipei), Hills Sydney (Australia), Whalley Surrey (Canada), Aruba Center Santa Cruz (Aruba), Santa Clara (Cuba), South Czechia Brno (Czech Republic), Johoku Tokyo (Japan), Cardenales Barquisimeto (Venezuela), Matamoros (Mexico) and Radames Guayama (Puerto Rico).
