The total prize money is 10,000 US dollars for the half marathon distance
AUSTIN, TX – August 9, 2024 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Austin International Half, formerly known as the 3M Half Marathon, is now accepting applications from elite runners who want to compete for a $10,000 prize purse. On January 19, 2025, thousands of athletes will converge on Austin, Texas for this popular net downhill race.
Known for its fast-paced downhill course, the Austin International Half has become a top choice for elite runners looking to test their limits and set new records. The pursuit of excellence has attracted an impressive field of competitors in the past, setting the stage for an unforgettable competition.
“We are excited to host an incredible group of elite runners at the Austin International Half,” said Emily Stevens, Athlete Services Manager for High Five Events. “The introduction of prize money for the Pro Field Division this year ensures a showcase of outstanding talent and athleticism and makes this year’s race one to remember.”
For 2025, the Pro Field Division of the Austin International Half Marathon will offer a $10,000 prize purse for the top five elite male and female finishers. Elite runners can also earn a free entry if they meet established standards, which can be found on our website.
The prize money will be divided as follows:
10,000.00 USD
- 1st place: $2,000.00
- 2nd place: 1,500.00 USD
- 3rd place: 750.00 USD
- 4th place: 500.00 USD
- 5th place: $250.00
The total prize money of $10,000 will be split evenly between the men’s and women’s classes, i.e. $5,000 for women and $5,000 for men.
