Father arrested for assault after domestic dispute

While holding the couple’s 10-month-old son, 33-year-old Darsean Eugene Mosley repeatedly punched the baby’s mother around 9 a.m. in an apartment in the 900 block of West Fourth Street, city police alleged in an affidavit. Each time Mosley punched the woman, the baby’s head struck a wall, causing “Swelling on the head”, the police claimed.

When the woman tried to use her cellphone to call for help, Mosley grabbed the phone and ran after two other women came to the victim’s aid, the court document said. Police did not disclose whether Mosley, of 2801 Linn Street, dropped the child on the ground or grabbed hold of her as she ran.

An officer pursued Mosley, who was quickly apprehended and arrested for aggravated and simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly endangering another person, and robbery and theft. Both the mother and baby were taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport to receive treatment for their injuries, police said. After his arraignment before District Judge Christian Frey, Mosley was booked into Lycoming County Prison on $95,000 bail.

Owner of a catering company arrested for serious crime

William Dalton Welch, 47, owner of B&C Catering, is facing criminal charges for failing to honor a contract with Sharon Murray. Sharon Murray paid him $3,842 in late September 2022 to cater her daughter’s Oct. 14 wedding, city police alleged in an affidavit. Murray signed a contract securing Welch’s services with a $420 deposit in late September 2022, police said. Two weeks before the 2023 wedding, Murray paid Welch the remaining $3,422 that was still to be paid, police said. B&C Catering charged Murray $34 per person for 110 guests.

“On the morning of the wedding, Welch, of 2252 W. Third St., called Murray and informed her that he could not host the wedding. None of the previously agreed-upon services were performed and Welch refused to refund Murray’s money.” police claimed in the court document. Welch was charged with theft by deception and fraudulent business practices, arraigned Monday before District Judge Christian Frey and released on $5,000 bail.

City woman charged with drug offenses

Jocelynn Gardner-Fox, 37, of 815 W. Fourth St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance after a detective with the county’s drug unit seized a small amount of fentanyl from her on Jan. 4 at the corner of West Fourth Street and Wahoo Drive, an affidavit states. She has waived a preliminary hearing and is free on bail. Chaddy Hill, 47, of 808 Wayne Ave., is believed to have sold the drug to Gardner-Fox and was arrested earlier this year. She has also since waived a hearing.

Child calls 911 while watching his parents argue

It was just after 10 p.m. on Friday night when the emergency dispatcher answered the 911 number. On the other end was an 8-year-old child from Old Lycoming Township who reported: “his parents argued”, according to an affidavit from Lycoming Regional Police. When officers arrived, they questioned a woman with “Swelling in the left eye” and Marvin Henriquez, 39, in their apartment at 2000 Mill Lane. The woman reported that Henriquez picked her up from work and that the two “began to fight” when they got home, the affidavit said. At one point, Henriquez grabbed her by the neck and made it difficult for her to breathe, police alleged. A family member separated the two, but soon after, Henriquez allegedly grabbed her a second time, police were told. “You hurt me,” the woman told him, police added.

Henriquez then went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and threatened to kill the woman, the court document states. When questioned, Henriquez admitted that the two had been arguing: “But nothing physically happened,” the affidavit states. After his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Buechle on charges of aggravated strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, Henriquez was jailed on $50,000 bail.
