Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the iconic character from the Assassin’s Creed series, made an epic comeback to the surprise of thousands of spectators at one of the UK’s biggest events this year.

On Sunday, August 25, 2024, American wrestling promoter AEW returned to Wembley Stadium in the UK for its latest PPV event. Everything included. It was an epic four hour night of professional wrestling from start to finish and I was there to witness every moment.

Featuring the return of English wrestling legend Nigel McGuinness, the debut of former WWE Superstar Ricochet and the Title vs. Career Match between Swerve Strickland and Bryan Danielson, it was certainly a night to remember.

However, for many spectators on site and at home, the match between the Englishman Will Ospreay and the American champion (who now holds the international title again) MJF was eagerly awaited.

The prospect of Will Ospreay and MJF facing off was exciting enough, but as a huge fan of Assassin’s Creed, which earned him the nickname “Aerial Assassin,” and as the bearer of a tattoo of his favorite video game series, Will Ospreay took his appearance a step further and marked the return of Ezio Auditore.

Complete with Parkour Breakdancer and Assassin’s Creed Shadow Ring Gear, the voice of Ezio Auditore, Roger Craig Smith, narrated the entrance video for Will Ospreay, accompanied by the soothing theme music from Assassin’s Creed. Many fans of the series in attendance surely had goosebumps when they heard Smith’s voice again, but none arguably more so than Will Ospreay.

The performance, which was also shown to AEW followers on Twitter, has received over a million views. Roger Craig Smith retweeted the video in question, saying: “I couldn’t have imagined how it would turn out but I am beyond honored that Will Ospreay and Ubisoft UK allowed me to be a part of such an epic moment at Wembley for AEW All-In.”

Will Ospreay responded: “You have no idea how much your role in Assassin’s Creed has influenced my career. Thank you for being part of the biggest night of my life. We are Assassins,” to which Smith replied: “VITTORIA AGLI ASSASSINI!”

Assassin’s Creed Shadow will be released on November 12, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
