“We used to rely on imported equipment, buying it in Turkey, Hungary and Russia, but now the situation is gradually changing. I am proud to say that at the fifth World Nomad Games we will use arrows made in the Kazakh workshop of Altyn Zhebe. These arrows, made to international standards, are completely competition-ready and over 2,000 pieces were produced for the tournament,” said Yerbol Tapenov, a member of the national team.

The Kazakh team, consisting of ten athletes, is preparing intensively for the games with these domestically produced arrows and is showing confidence in their high quality.

Dias Akhmetov, head coach of the Kazakh Sadak Atu – The wonderful world of madness Team, noted that the competition will be tough.

“Our athletes will have to compete against strong opponents from Turkey, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, as well as teams from France, Italy, Spain, China, Thailand and Iran. However, we are confident about our preparation and determined to fight for medals,” he said.

In addition to archery, the World Nomad Games will also feature equestrian sports. To solve transportation problems, Kazakhstan will provide local horses for foreign athletes. Muratbek Kypshakbayev, deputy head of the Directorate for the preparation and holding of the fifth World Nomad Games, confirmed that Kazakhstan will help by providing horses for athletes from most countries.

“The management will distribute the horses among the foreign athletes. Only athletes from Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will come with their horses,” said Kypshakbayev.

Athletes from these neighboring countries will bring their horses across the border in special transporters. Kypshakbayev stressed that athletes have nothing to worry about, as the outcome of events such as wrestling depends more on the athlete’s training than on the horse.
