Arkham Shadow focuses on Two-Face’s better half

Arkham Shadow focuses on Two-Face’s better half

Batman: Arkham Origins pulls back a cloak-like curtain over some of the antagonists in the Arkhamverse whose backstories may not have been fully explored, regardless of whether they deserved more, or even more, screen time earlier in the continuity. One of the most tantalizing storylines in Batman: Arkham OriginsSo one speculates about who might end up becoming a full-fledged villain and whose development will be left to the character development later in the Arkhamverse to be further shaped.

Batman: Arkham Origins For example, directs a Bat-Signal at doctors Harleen Quinzel and Jonathan Crane, and while players know that these characters will inevitably become more colorful and vicious, it will be interesting to see what state both are in when the credits roll. Likewise, the exclusive Meta Quest 3 Arkham Part 2 has revealed another character who is a recurring antagonist in the Arkhamverse and who will play a major role this time as a supporting character: Harvey Dent.

Batman: Arkham Shadow flips a coin and lands, at least primarily, on Harvey Dent

Investigation-1

After a hands-on preview demo, which Game Rant attended, an informal question and answer session followed, where Camouflaj’s studio head and game director Ryan Payton, design director Ryan Darcey and production director Matt Walker talked about the Batman: Arkham Origins Characters they enjoyed working on the most. Payton revealed a little information about District Attorney Harvey Dents’ role in the game, noting that players have only seen him so far split down the middle, both metaphorically and literally, indulging in coin-flipping dualities.

“In all of the Arkham games, there’s no screen time with Harvey Dent. He’s Two-Face all the time, right, and so everyone knows that Harvey Dent — especially in this franchise, and we’re a prequel, everyone knows that Harvey Dent becomes Two-Face at some point — but, while we have Harvey there, we can do a lot of really fun, great things with Harvey?”

Harvey Dent’s role in Batman: Arkham Shadow is a testament to Troy Baker’s performance as Gotham District Attorney

Not unlike Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale Long Halloween or Batman: The Animated Series‘ two-part origin story shows him iconic, Shadow should now hopefully spend plenty of time playing Harvey before he dramatically transforms. That might not always have been the case, says Payton, if Camouflaj hadn’t been so inspired that the actor reprised his role.

“Honestly, it was partly inspired by the fact that we had such a fantastic collaboration with Troy Baker, the actor behind Harvey Dent. It made us want to go even deeper into the character, spend more time with him and see what else he could bring to the story because he’s just an incredible partner and supporter of what we’ve done and he also gets on great with Roger (Craig Smith) on stage because they worked together on Arkham Origins when Troy played the Joker. So it was really fun to see them have a very different dynamic but rekindle the partnership after so many years.”

Troy Baker played Two-Face in Arkham City And Arkham Knight but while the actor has more than just experience with the more guttural and sadistic role of the antagonist, it is something else entirely to hear his normal speaking voice in his portrayal of Harvey.

There is no confirmation yet that Harvey will eventually become Two-Face in Arkham Shadowunsurprisingly, but as Payton notes, it will be great to finally see Harvey before he’s physically scarred, especially if it means his friendship with Bruce Wayne and his partnership with Commissioner Jim Gordon and Batman can be thoroughly fleshed out. Only time will tell if he’s already psychologically scarred and has his own Big Bad Harv-esque personality.
