LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV wide receiver added to his impressive list of awards before kickoff Ricky White III was named to the Associated Press preseason All-America team on Monday.

White, who played on the AP second team, was previously selected to the first team All-America by College Football Network and to the preseason second team by The Sporting News, Athlon Sports, Phil Steele and Walter Camp. He is also on three official preseason watch lists: The Biletnikoff Award, Maxwell Player of the Year and Walter Camp Player of the Year.

White is the best returning receiver in college football after finishing with a school-record 1,483 yards last fall. He tied the UNLV record with 88 receptions in a season and became the first Rebel ever to have five consecutive games with at least 100 receiving yards. In 2023, White was named First Team All-America by the Action Network, Second Team by the College Football Network and Third Team by the Associated Press, making him only the second UNLV WR to appear on an AP team in history and the first since 1981.

Under the leadership of the 2023 Mountain West Coach of the Year Barry OdomWhite and the Rebels will begin their 57th football season on August 31 at 4 p.m. PT on FS1 with a visit to Big 12 Conference member Houston. That will be the first of a school-record 11 nationally televised games. The first home game will be a week later when Utah Tech comes to Allegiant Stadium on September 7 at noon.
