Another day with low humidity, temperatures around 30 degrees

WHAT TO EXPECT

You might want to grab a light jacket this morning! We’re starting the day in Knoxville with temperatures in the 13s, which would be a new record low, surpassing the 13s set in 1893. In the areas around the valley, at higher elevations, temperatures are in the 8s. It’s a mostly clear morning with some patches of fog.

It’s a beautiful sunny day and a great day to get outside! Dew points are between 10 and 12 degrees today, so it feels great in the shade. There’s a northeast wind blowing at 5 to 10 mph, gusting around 15 mph. We’re 8 degrees below average, with a high of 80 in Knoxville.

The temperature tonight is again below average at 14 degrees, but there will also be a few clouds passing by.

OUTLOOK

Thursday will be cloudier at times, and increasing humidity may bring isolated showers or thunderstorms. The maximum temperature will be 30 degrees, and it will feel one degree warmer in the shade.

Friday will start at 60 degrees, still below average here, but it will warm up to 87 degrees, right in the “normal” range. We’ll have a mostly sunny day, with a few passing clouds and a few scattered showers possible in the higher elevations.

This weekend it will heat up again to up to 90 degrees, with lots of sunshine.
