An iPad owner has figured out how to run Fortnite from a location outside the EU, claiming the entire process took 10 hours of brute force.

Fortnite was removed from all Apple platforms due to a legal dispute between the two companies, but the EU introduced some measures that allowed Epic Games to bring the title back again. However, it should be noted that only the countries that belong to the European Union can successfully offer the game, but one stubborn individual had a “never give up” attitude that allowed him to launch it on an iPad despite living outside of those regions.

The individual claims he will publish a complete tutorial on how to successfully run Fortnite on compatible Apple devices while living outside the EU.

If you live in the US, Canada or any other region outside the EU, it is impossible to download and install Fortnite on iOS and iPadOS. It is a major hurdle if you choose the direct route where you search for the game in Apple’s App Store. According to the evidence posted by Saunders Tech on X, he got Fortnite working and also mentioned that it took him 10 hours of brute force to get the title running. He plans to create a full tutorial but states that it will take him 5-10 hours to do so.

When asked why it would take so long to upload a tutorial, Saunders told Tech that he had to repeat the whole process on another iPad and figure out how to get around the EU region lock. In the small video he posted in the thread, Fortnite’s character selection can be seen in-game, but he can’t install any new apps. This limitation certainly had something to do with him using brute force to gain access to the game, but he hasn’t yet provided a solid explanation for it.

Some users speculate that Saunders Tech got Fortnite working by using a VPN, EU region, and EU Apple ID. Unfortunately, the person hasn’t responded yet, probably because they’re busy recording their tutorial, which they’ll present to their audience at a later date. We expect Apple to take note of this workaround and patch it quickly, but it’s still an impressive feat, as some users would have given up after a few hours.
