Amazon’s New World and PlayStation games lead the video game anthology series

Prime Video is developing a new video game show, this time an anthology focusing on various titles from multiple developers.

Per DeadlineThe series is called Secret Level. The episodes take place in the worlds of games such as Speleology and Amazon’s MMO New World, along with unspecified PlayStation features.

Deadpool director Tim Miller will helm the show with his Blur studio. The company previously worked on Love, Death & Robots for Netflix and has been cited as a specific source of inspiration for Secret Level.

For Prime Video, this is the second video game series after Stand out last April. Secret Level is the first major anthology series for the Game-to-adaptation pipeline.

Publishers like PlayStation and Xbox have made clear their plans to adapt their games various mediaBut not every game may have what it takes to land a streamer, either because it wasn’t developed with that in mind or because it’s just too old or too obscure.

In theory, Secret Level’s anthology format could make up for the difference. Older games can spend some time in the spotlight, which could lead to a surge in popularity, as we saw at Stand out And The Last of Us.

A long dormant series of games with repeated Adaptation rumors Maybe this show will give it a second life, if only for a while.
