After the U.S. women’s basketball team won Olympic gold on Sunday, star A’ja Wilson had something important to say about her teammate Kahleah Copper.
The result was a classic mic drop moment.
Copper scored 12 points but sank two crucial free throws in the final seconds to clinch the victory. Team USA defeated France 67-66, despite Gabby Williams scoring a basket just before the final whistle.
During her postgame interview with NBC, Wilson was asked to describe Copper in one word.
Wilson used two words, one of which was not suitable for a family audience.
“That bitch,” she said before walking away.
The short video clip quickly spread on social media. NBC also quickly filed a copyright infringement complaint to have the video removed. The broadcaster is taking tough action against the unauthorized distribution of videos from its Olympic coverage.

Still, millions of viewers had already seen the moment, and many had shared and discussed the video. Most didn’t seem bothered by Wilson’s choice of words in that emotional moment when the U.S. women’s team won its 61st consecutive Olympic Games and its eighth consecutive gold medal.
