The ADCC World Championship is the event that many Jiu-Jitsu fans look forward to the most, and with two years already passed, it is time for another ADCC World Championship.

The 2024 ADCC World Championship will take place from August 17 to 18 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

There have been many historic moments in the history of the ADCC, but the most historic was probably the first event.

The 1998 ADCC World Championship was the beginning of this 20+ year journey that led us to where we are today. The tournament included six weight classes with 16 athletes each.

How do ADCC Worlds work?

There are three ways to compete in the ADCC World Championships: Returning champions and podium finishers from previous World Championships automatically qualify to return, you can either win one of the continental qualifiers (held in various locations around the world) or you can receive an invitation.

The men’s divisions of the ADCC World Championships include 16 competitors, including eight qualified athletes, seven invitationals, and the return of the defending ADCC champion. The women’s divisions include eight competitors, including four qualified athletes, the defending champion, and three invitationals.

The ADCC World Championships also use a knockout system from the round of 16 onwards, and the motto here is: win and advance.
