Aamir Khan’s son Junaid made a dazzling debut with the Netflix film Maharaj. While Juanid’s performance impressed critics and fans alike, his father has now revealed that he was unsure about Junaid’s acting prowess before the film’s release. In a conversation with Rhea Chakraborty on her podcast, Aamir revealed that he had warned Junaid before his debut, saying, “The lead actor has done very well in this film and will probably compare himself to him, but I have never been to the point in my life where I would outshine him (I am an actor and when your first film comes out, you will be compared to me. You will not get rid of the tag ‘Aamir Khan’s son’. It would put undue pressure on you.)”

The 3 Idiots star also admitted that he was not sure if Junaid was a good actor, “kyunki voh bohot shy tha (because he was too shy).” “As a father, I was worried,” he said. However, after Junaid’s debut, Aamir felt, “he has shown a lot of potential.”

A few days ago, Aamir Khan hosted a special party to celebrate his son Junaid’s success and his first Bollywood film. Junaid made his Bollywood debut this year with the Netflix film Maharaj. The film’s director Siddharth P Malhotra shared pictures from the party on his Instagram stories. “Maharaj success party,” he captioned the post. “Good times,” he captioned the post, dropping heart emojis. The film’s director posted a picture with Aamir Khan on his Instagram story and wrote, “Always a fan for life… Loved him then. Love him now and forever more.”

Directed by Siddharth Malhotra, Maharaj also stars Sharvari and Shalini Pandey. The film is backed by Yash Raj Films and released on Netflix on June 14. Set in the 19th century, Maharaj is inspired by true events and tells the story of a journalist who is hailed as a hero after he decides to pursue challenging stories of truth and courage that challenge society.
