A Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase and an Indie World Doubleheader are planned for August 27

A Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase and an Indie World Doubleheader are planned for August 27

Nintendo fans have a lot to look forward to, including the company’s new museum, an expansion of the Donkey Kong theme park in the US, and of course, the sequel for the Switch. But ultimately, it’s all about the games, and thanks to a double Nintendo Direct the company has scheduled for August 27, we’ll soon have a clearer idea of what’s coming to the Switch. The stream begins at 10:00 a.m. ET on YouTube with an Indie World showcase that leads into a Nintendo Direct partner presentation.

The two-for-one stream will last about 40 minutes, but Nintendo stressed that there will be no news about the next console (it’s smart to temper expectations on that one). Indie World presentations often show some games suddenly appearing on the eShop the same day, so you’ll most likely have some new options to try out tomorrow.

The second presentation will include details on third-party games coming to the Switch. It’s interesting that Nintendo didn’t reveal exactly which partner or partners it has on board, perhaps suggesting it has a big surprise in store. Yes, yes, we say that every time there’s a Nintendo Direct or Indie World, but if there’s ever an ideal time for a Hollow Knight: Silksong Release date announcement and a deep dive into the highly anticipated sequel, it feels like.

In any case, Team Engadget will be keeping a close eye out for any news from Team Cherry during the stream. We’ll also keep you updated on any major announcements from the double showcase. You can watch the double presentation here:
