BETHESDA – Judeana Gramlich is bringing four new beauty tools to her new full-time job at Color Me Madd Salon in Bethesda.

Thursday afternoon was the grand opening and grand opening party for Gramlich, who will be starting her full-time position as an esthetician at Color Me Madd. At the grand opening, Gramlich and attendees celebrated the integration of her business, JG Cosmetique+, into the salon.

“I always wanted to make people feel better,” she said. “I think that’s really important. You have to be happy with yourself first before you can be happy with anything else, and then everything will follow.”

At the launch party, Gramlich gave away a package for laser hair removal, one year of Xeomin for wrinkle treatment, one year of Botox and one year of Juvederm filler in a syringe for free.

The Hydro Facial, Subnovii Plasma Pen, Motus AZ+ and Vybe RF microneedling device are all new devices coming to the salon through Gramlich’s services, treating everything from hair removal to fine lines and wrinkles.

Gramlich said the hydro facial is a device used to deeply cleanse and nourish the skin. The Subnovii Plasma Pen is an all-natural method of regenerating skin that simultaneously tightens and lifts the eyebrows and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. The Motus AZ+ is a hair removal device that requires six to eight sessions for hair removal and is painless, Gramlich pointed out. The Vybe RF microneedling device uses needles for skin rejuvenation.

Gramlich began her journey into esthetics in 2022 when she spoke with Casey Harris, owner of Wink Lash Studio in St. Clairsville, who she told that she was interested in beauty and aesthetics. She got certified last March. From there, Harris offered her a room to rent in her studio in the spring of 2023 and encouraged her to pursue her dream. A year later, she is now working in esthetics full time.

Gramlich started working at Color Me Madd in March, but didn’t announce until Thursday’s grand opening that she would be working at the salon full-time for her business, JG Cosmetique+.

Gramlich believes the salon is a perfect fit for her because all of the services it offers—from hair, nails and tattoos to weight loss, wrinkles and aging—fit together.

“I want people to be happy,” she said. “I want them to love themselves whether they have wrinkles or not. But if removing some wrinkles will help them feel more confident, then I want to help them do that.”

She also described the Color Me Madd team as one big, happy family.

Rosie Johnson is also someone who encouraged Gramlich to pursue her dreams and offered her a space in her own salon, Color Me Madd.

Although she will now work full-time at the salon, Gramlich plans to continue working occasionally at the Wink Lash Studio while continuing to make house calls.

Gramlich also offers services such as wrinkle smoothers and fillers, which she did in her time as an aesthetic nurse. She also offers weight loss services to her clients. Gramlich stressed that she doesn’t take anything away from diabetics, and said the medical weight loss remedies she sells are compounded.

“It is not a generic and not a brand,” she said.” “We manufacture, sell and administer finished weight loss medications that are also given to diabetics. This is a big misunderstanding.”

Gramlich brings 30 years of medical experience to the practice. She worked for 13 years as a nurse at what is now WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and in a general practice in cardiology and gastroenterology. She also worked as a registered nurse before pursuing her dream of working in the field of beauty and aesthetics.

She plans to continue working at the hospital if necessary to maintain her medical qualifications, she said, because she “likes to take care of people.”

Gramlich described her goal as making more people aware of anti-aging and preventative measures while also repairing some of the damage that has already been done.

She found that aesthetics gave people a confidence they didn’t have before.

“It’s about making people feel good,” she said. “People don’t come here and say, ‘I want to do this for others.’ Everyone who comes into my room wants to do this for themselves.”
